Our Mental System
On Feb. 7th, I spoke at the Polka Dot Powerhouse meeting in Norwich, CT. After discussing the “5 Reasons to Stop Dieting Forever”, I then recommended we change the focus from diets to the need to create better balance in our 4 body systems – mental, emotional, physical and spiritual. Here is a review of our mental system.
Our Mental System is comprised of our conscious thoughts and patterns, self-perceptions, model of the world, beliefs, values, goals and mindset.
When in balance we will experience:
- Effective goal setting and actions
- Peaceful thoughts of self and others
- Improved clarity
When out of balance, we will have:
- Negative, racing thoughts
- Poor self- image
- Limiting beliefs
- Lack of focus
- Limiting criticism
