Strong Friendships Improve Our Health
Friendship Friday!
Friends have a positive effect on our health! Several studies have shown strong friendships can improve our happiness, self-esteem and sense of belonging plus our decrease stress. They have also found that having good friends can reduce blood pressure, heart rate and cholesterol – decreasing risks for certain diseases.
According to the Mayo Clinic, “Adults with strong social support have a reduced risk of many significant health problems, including depression, high blood pressure and an unhealthy body mass index.” Having a good friend support system is even good for your weight!
